1. Save Money By Planning Meals

One of the easiest ways to maximize your budget is to plan your meals ahead of time.

By the way, this step is very important don’t skip it.

Just set aside a few minutes of your time to plan your weekly meals.

This is the weekly menu I use. Feel free to download it for free and ENJOY !! ????

Save money week menu. A weekly menu sheet with 7 days of the week listed.

Once you have created your weekly menus you have to try your best and stick to your list.

DO NOT go get tempted to buy what’s NOT on your list.

Make a simple budget and keep it simple.

In my case, for example, to make my life easier, I have what I call my main meal. My main big meal focus is on dinner.

I always cook extra . . . ALWAYS…  to take leftovers to work for lunch so does hubby and kiddo when she is around and not at University.

Make dinner staples that you eat every week. This way life is so much simpler and easy going.

For example, I have “Chicken Parmesan Tuesdays” – “Burger night Thursdays” – “Pasta Sundays” every single week and that makes meal planning easier for me.

Because it takes the guessing out of it and leaves me a few free days for “What do I have a taste for today”

For instance, breakfast is quite simple. At least I try to keep it simple.

I love oats and smoothies.

They are easy, delicious and fast to prepare.

Also now for the best part, the kids love it!

10. Avoid Pre-Cut and Prepackaged Items

I used to be the poster child for buying pre-cut and pre-seasoned items. Guilty as charged ????

My train of thought was that I was saving time. Soon I realized how this convenience was costing me lots of money.

No wonder my grocery bill was through the roof. I was paying for convenience.

Just to save a few minutes, I was bleeding away cash.

I was literally throwing money away. If only I could turn back time… and get that money back…sigh.

The key here is to stay focus on saving money

You can always make it fun with the kids by spending quality time in the kitchen with them.

Also, you can have them help you wash and cut the vegetables and fruits.

Even better have hubby together with the kids in the kitchen with you and catch up on your day while prepping your food and spending quality time with the family.

Have you noticed that the most expensive products are at eye level?

The shelves are arranged very carefully to target different consumers of different ages.

Companies pay lots of cash to have their product showcased at eye level.

Guess how are their target consumers? KIDS.

Most sugary products are placed on shelves where kids can see immediately.

Certainly, there is no coincide about that. that’s why kids go nuts all the time. Mom, I want this!. Mom, I want that!

Most of the time we parents will buy our kids the item.

Learn to say NO.

This has happened to me so many times.

If I would not have been paying attention to the screen I would have paid the full price.

So eyes on the price!! literally ????

13. Look For Discount Bins

Supermarkets usually have a clearance aisle or bin.

Look for those and most often than not you will find good items there.

Lots of people get the wrong idea or impression when it comes to the clearance section in the store

If you are of this mentality I will urge you to think again and reconsider.

Often items that are about to get out of season, get marked down.

As well as items that have been rebranded with the packaging.

The stores want to get them out quickly so they can stock the more new “shiny” “rebranded” package items.

These foods are more affordable and more nutrient-dense.

The grocery counterpart is more expensive because it needs to be shipped from accross the country and manufacturers pass the cost to us the consumer.
