I will share with you 12 productive things to do on Sunday for a productive week.

Sundays are usually a day of rest and relaxation.

But what if I tell you that by having a productive Sunday your week will be even more productive?

It is important to create a Sunday routine to start your week off on the right foot.

It is essential to start your week well, instead of recovering from your weekend.

Of course, you don’t have to use all these ideas.

Just pick and choose the one that works for you.

Productivity and self development

You can also modify all these categories and tips and customized it making sure they fit your needs.

I know we all suffer from Sunday night blues.

That dreaded feeling that we have to go to work on Monday or go to school or stay home and get the whole routine of getting the children ready for school, etc

Planning ahead for the week on Sundays empowers you.

You know that with all this planning you are setting yourself up for a very productive and successful week.

12 Productive Things To Do on Sunday

1. Write Down Your Goals For The Week

12 things you should do every sunday

Goals give us a purpose, so start with a journal and setting goals.

They create challenges for us.

But when we accomplish our goals life becomes more meaningful and satisfying.

We become more empower.

You need to ask yourself the following questions

  • What are the goals I want to achieve this coming week?
  • What will keep me motivated?
  • Which goals I did not accomplish last week?
  • How can I manage my time more efficiently?

Reflect and learn from previous weeks.

  • What worked last week?
  • How can I make this coming week better?
  • I accomplished my goals (what other goals I want to achieve and tackled)

Since I am a big planner, I write down my goals every week.

For me, it really works to write them down.

Also, I create a vision board. I am a very visual person and vision boards help me stay motivate and focus.

If you have long term goals, start by breaking them down into short term goals.

Create an actionable plan to make your goals happen and become a reality. Success requires hard work.

If you want to be successful it is going to take planning.

You need to stay focus, work hard and be determined.

Never give up. Stay focus and go for what you want!

2. Ground and Center Yourself

We are living in a world with so much stress.

I am a believer in taking so time to relax and disconnect.

My morning is the time for me to center myself.

I wake up earlier (before the family wakes up) just to have some time without rushing just to enjoy the new day.

My morning routine consists of having coffee or “cafecito” as I call it.

To me, this is very important.

This is the time I take to sit by the window with the sun in my face and drink my morning coffee.

I call this “Me Time”

I close my eyes and enjoy the feeling of the sun warming my face.

Most of the time I take this precious time in my day and practice mindfulness for just a few minutes

This sets the tone for the day.

I start my day on a positive note and I am ready to take over the world!!

At least it feels like that ?

3. Plan Your Week

12 Productive Things to do on Sunday

Every week I sit down and make a plan for everything that needs to be done. Life is busy.

I have a tendency that if it is not on my schedule/calendar or reminder I tend to forget about it.

We all have so many things to do that it would be nice if the day had 30 hours instead of 24 hours.

This is an example of what my list includes for the weeks.

There are weeks when the list is really long.

While there are other weeks when it is short.

Prioritize Your To-Do List For The Week

  • Doctor’s appointments,
  • Work related tasks
  • Children activities
  • Birthdays/anniversaries
  • Grocery shopping
  • Down time

For example, for me, my “Blog to-do list ” looks like this “Specific to-do list for me as a blogger”

  • Writing blog post
  • Making new pins
  • creating graphics
  • Scheduling social media
productivity tips

The Best Way To Be Productive and Stay on Track is to Create a List for The Week.

  • Make a list of all your goals
  • Prioritize your tasks
  • Make a schedule
  • Assign actionable steps
  • Put everything in your calendar and don’t procrastinate
  • Track your progress
  • Stick to the plan or make adjustments

Take it easy and do one thing at a time.

When you multitask your attention is split.

You are jumping from task to task without giving your full attention to any of them.

I find that I am more productive when I focus on one thing only.

Then I move to the next item on my schedule.

4. Meal Prep

Meal prep is one of the 12 Productive Things to do on Sunday

Meal prep is key to get you going for the week. Prep your meals ahead of time and this will allow you to have extra time during the busy week.

It is important that you nourish your body with healthy foods and that you cook healthy meals.

I am starting to eat better and cooking healthier more nutritious foods that are easy to make and delicious.

If you have kids this is a very good opportunity that you can use to spend quality time with the kiddos.

Let them be part of choosing the foods and menu for the week.

This way they will eat healthier and more fruits and vegetables because they were part of the meal prep.

When you meal prep and buy food for the week you will save money on groceries.

Have the kids and your spouse prepare and pack the snacks for the week.

This is FUN for them.

Also, you get to spend quality time with the entire family.

You will teach your children how to be productive in life.

These are the lessons and memories you and your family will have forever.

5. Plan Your Outfits

12 Productive Things to do on Sunday

I am about making my life easier.

The easier the better and happier I am.

There was a time when I used to spend so much time deciding what to wear.

Then on top of that, I tried different outfits.

I was always rushing out in the morning and living behind a big mess.

A pile of clothes I tried on.

That was more work for me when I came back home from work.

Now I work smarter not harder!

Organized your drawers so you know where things are.

A big time killer is when you can’t find the clothing item you are looking for.

This becomes a hide and seek game.

Make your life easier by putting things where you can find them.

Getting ready in the morning will become easier, quicker, and more efficient.

6. Organize and Declutter Your Space

12 things you should do every sunday

When the house is upside down and things are all over the place I feel less productive and even disoriented to a point.

It’s amazing how the clutter around you can actually affect your mood in a negative way, doesn’t it?

Decluttering your space reduces stress in your everyday life.

Time is money.

A disorganize and messy space will cost you time just looking and searching for things.

Sunday is my day to do laundry, clean the house, and clean and organize my workspace.

7. Practice Self-Care

12 things you should do every sunday

Self care is different for everyone.

Some people practice self care just with a 20 minutes meditation.

While others set an entire morning or afternoon to relax, read a book or taking a long bath.

“Me-time” like I love to call it is very important.

This allows you to unwind from the stress of the previous week and recharge for the coming week.

After I do all the organizing and decluttering I set time aside to decompress.

I do a face mask and deep condition my hair.

Do a manicure and pedicure. Sometimes just lay in bed and watch TV.

Also for me is very important to practice meditation.

I set aside a few minutes to meditate.

Sometimes I take longer when needed.

But to me is very important to disconnect and clear my mind of clutter and negative outside influences.

For you it may be different, you may not mediate, which by the way I highly recommend.

But if your thing is watching TV, do just that. Relax and watch TV.

Here are some ideas for you to practice self care that I use and work wonders on me.

How To Practice Self Care

  • Take a bath
  • Read a book or magazine
  • Meditate
  • Do yoga
  • Go for a walk
  • Take a nap
  • Watch your favorite show

This is your Sunday and you want to decompress and relax so you can start Monday energized and ready to be productive.

8. Take Care of Your Laundry

Don’t start your week off by realizing you or your family won’t have any clean clothes.

You need clean clothes to get started and be productive in the week.

I always feel like laundry is the never ending story.

have to do the laundry ahead of time because I like to have my more delicate clothes air dry.

So it is not like I can wash, dry and go.

Doing laundry takes planning for me.

So, think about it this way, by doing the laundry on Sundays, you and your family will have all the clean clothes needed for the week.

9. Check Your Budget For The Week

Create a weekly budget and start taking control of your finances.

A budget will allow you to stay focus on your priorities.

A budget can seem overwhelming, but I promise it will get easier as you get the hang of it.

It is like math, the more you practice the easier it becomes.

Get in the habit of checking your bank account.

This saves you from overdrafts and gives you a better idea of how to budget for the week.

Once you get into the habit of budgeting and implement it, you will see how much money you will start saving.

Budgeting will allow you to pay off debt, start an emergency fund and eventually become financially free.

10. Exercise and Get Moving

12 things you should do every sunday

Exercise stimulates the production of dopamine.

Which makes us feel “good” “happy”.

Don’t skip your workouts.

Exercises You Can Do That Costs No Money

  • Walk
  • Swim
  • Play tag with your kids
  • Jump rope (Kids love this one)
  • Dancing

These are but just a few exercises you can do without incurring in gym fees.

Plan and schedule your weekly workouts.

Create goals of what you want to achieve.

For me, my workout goals are for the following.

  • Eat healthier
  • Loose weight
  • Feel more energized
  • Walking up the stairs without running out of air.

11. Set Everything Up For a Goodnight Sleep

It is important to have quality rest.

If you are tired all the time you are going to be miserable and not productive at all.

It is important that you rest and take care of yourself.

12. Spend Quality Time With Your Love Ones

12 things you should do every sunday

My main priority in life is my family. To me, it is important to spend time with them.

Plan activities with your family.

Remember these are the memories you are creating.

Kids grow so fast.

I am afraid to blink because the next time I open my eyes they going to be all grown up.
